The most unprofessional place I have ever been in my entire life. I called to book a session, he required me to pay the full amount upfront for 2 hours, which I did. The session was supposed to be from 1-3 o'clock. Then he texted me asking if we could do 2-4 instead and I said that's fine. I showed up 15 minutes earlier. I knocked, no one answered.
I texted you je guy, he didn't reply so I called him multiple times and finally reached him. He said "my guy was supposed to be there blah blah blah." He showed up almost an hour late. So I asked him for a refund, then he start saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry" that's all I heard. So he didn't want to give me my refund so I ended up taking the session.
We did two tracks, he barely mixed the first one and the second one, he didn't even have time to touch it. Remember I had already paid him the full amount. So he asked if he could send the track through email to me the next day, since he didn't have "time" to get my stuff done that I had already paid for. He finally sent it the next day at 9pm (my bed time).
When I listened to it, trash trash trash. Overall, this is place is the most unprofessional I have ever been to. Place didn't clean, some lady came to clean the place DURING THE SESSION? Who does that? All of the dusts be flying right in left in my face. I wish I could give this place 0 star. DO NOT GO THERE! ALL THEY SEE IS THE MONEY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Avoid this studio at all costs! I live in Los Angeles and wanted to record some tracks with a bass player who lived in Phoenix. Tom wanted a deposit upfront for 10 hours, so I paid him, set up time for the session, and drove 6 hours to Phoenix for the session. We had reserved a block of 4 hours, but when we showed up to record, Tom said that he had another gig in Northern Arizona and would only be available for an hour or so.
We did what we could and could never pin down Tom for another session while I was in town. He would make promise after promise and never follow through. This whole fiasco cost me a lot of time and money, including the drive and two nights in a motel. The bass player also kept hounding him for studio time after I left and only got the run around. I would sue Tom in small claims court, but frankly, it's not worth the time or the aggravation. I wish that I could rate TallCat Studios with negative stars, but that isn't an option. This is the most unprofessional studio that I have ever worked with.

I've recorded in a good amount of studios and TallCat is among the best! Tom is awesome at his job and I would recommend recording here. Atmosphere is great and they take their time to make sure the sound is what you want. If you ask for feedback, Tom will be honest which is great! Looking forward to doing more projects with them.

I am a repeat customer at TallCat and there are multiple reasons why: Tom is a very professional and friendly guy who is versitile with the genres of music he can work on. Want to work on a boom-bap style rap song like I did? He's got you covered. Maybe something a bit more radio friendly? He can do that too! Maybe you're a singer going for a sound in a completely different genre?
He's got that nailed down. With quality equiptment, an experienced & efficient engineer, and an overall quality studio session I would definitely recommend TallCat to people looking for a recording studio

I blame myself for hiring TallCat for a serious video production. I am out-of-state and needed a portion of my project shot in the Phoenix area. I contemplated expanding my production budget to travel there myself to supervise. Boy should I have. They projected plenty of confidence on the phone. In our industry, what I was asking of them was not terribly complicated and they seemed unconcerned about their ability to deliver on the request.
I provided them sample footage. I provided them detailed technical direction. I even provided them a lighting plot. My clients in this case included several well-respected public officials. The events that followed are hard to believe. They became difficult to get a response from in the days following the shoot when they were supposed to be delivering the footage.
When they finally did deliver a week later, it was clear why it took so long. It was shockingly bad. By any standard, it was not even close to a professional product. Astonishingly, when I shared this view with them, they denied it and somehow found a way in their conscience to blame me and describe it as my fault. To this day, they have refused to provide me a refund of their required up-front fee for the work even though my client and I are unable to use the footage in our project. Unbelievable.
In short- they have no idea what they're doing when it comes to professional video production. They project confidence on the phone, require an up-front fee, and then deliver unusable garbage and describe it as your fault. No joke. Again- don't be like me. I blame myself for ever making the decision to do business with TallCat Studios.
