In 1971 renowned heart surgeon Dr. Edward B. "Ted" Diethrich founded the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix. One of Diethrich's first staff hires was a young surgical cinematographer named Richard "Dick" Williams. For over 40 years Diethrich and Williams set forth to educate the public about the mysteries of the heart and the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The Latest Procedure, which features some of today's most contemporary medical treatments and is an homage to the Diethrich motto: "To Care, To Teach, To Pioneer."

Jeff Martin joined VAS in 2007 as a broadcast intern and parlayed this opportunity into a full-time position operating and driving the HDMD satellite vehicle VAS built in 2008. Martin now serves in every role from producer/director, sound engineer, robotic camera operator, and most importantly, keeping the VAS equipment operational while serving our clients.
Knowing how to speak with an interventionist and his or her staff with confidence and respect is key. In the art of medicine, learning from the masters is a long practiced ritual. From the early days of surgery when operations were still a brutal craft, operative theaters were built in hospitals so interns and fellows could watch the latest procedure.
