Every project, whether a commercial spot, promotional video, or event video, is approached first with this question in mind- what is the most creative way we can tell this story?Patrick Gillespie and David Stewart co-founded Hidden Woods Media in 2015, three years after meeting at the University of Denver. As Hidden Woods Media has developed, we have created commercial spots for familiar brands, documentary work for foundations and non-profits, and met marketing goals for major agencies. Throughout our work, our attention to the communication goals of each client is met with our filmmaking roots that we cannot seem to shake. We shoot for the cinematic image, the emotional story, and that lingering feeling that stays with you long after the screen fades to black.

Patrick is an award winning documentary filmmaker based out of Denver, Colorado. He has worked on visual storytelling projects locally and internationally. After building a portfolio as a contract editor and cinematographer, he helped found Hidden Woods as a natural outlet for any creative energy. A Colorado native, Patrick is usually found high on a rock somewhere in the front range when not in the office.

We had a fantastic experience with Hidden Woods Media. We work with many video production companies throughout the country, and HWM is the best we’ve encountered. What sets them apart is their incredible ability to evoke emotion for powerful storytelling. The videos they produced for us gave everyone chills! I really can't say enough good things about Hidden Woods Media, these guys are great to work with. They listened carefully to our needs and made our team incredibly comfortable during the shoot, plus they walked us through the process every step of the way. We contracted Hidden Woods Media to produce our yearly fundraising video for our gala, Rebel with a Cause. They were efficient, cost-effective, and produced an extremely high quality video. They were flexible in their schedules to accommodate travel for an on-site shoot 6 hours away, which worked out great for the production of our video. We were fairly sure of what we wanted, and Hidden Woods helped us solidify our vision to create a video which matched that vision.
Our video turned out to be personal and story driven which is exactly what we wanted. Pat & Dave communicated well & often and were quick with the pre & post production stages, which helped us out tremendously since we were on a tight deadline. Thanks, guys!

Very professional work by the whole team. We produce quite a few short videos and every single time it's a huge hassle trying to explain to the film makers what we want and most often we feel we need to teach them how to achieve it while it should be the other way around. Our experience working with HWM is the exact opposite, it took one phone call to clarify the approach to the video prior to the shoot and after that they showed amazing understanding to both our product and the feel, dynamics and idea of the video we want. HWM did a great job shooting and editing with none on our side being there to guide them as we're based on the opposite side of the world and everything we reviewed and corrected was a minor detail just to make it perfect. We could have used the very first edit.
