​Standard Definition (SD) video editing (in house)
Charged at $60. 00/Hr. * and High Definition (HD) video editing (in house) charged at $90. 00/Hr. *
HD editing is executed on server grade, HP 8 core graphic workstations, and most editing is not only encoded to/from various HD formats quicker (saving time and money) , the editing process is virtually done in real time.
All HD edits then can be encoded for High Definition Blu-ray Disk authoring.

The film editing process
*Blu-ray discs are BD-R, a BD-R compatible player is required for playback. All film transferred to Blu-ray will be in standard definition unless 16mm film is transferred. ​
If you have had film transfer done by other merchants, and are unhappy with the results or need more editing done, please bring in the original DVD (and the film if you still have it) , and let AMFM brighten (if needed) , improve the color, and remaster it. AMFM also offers narration services (done by the original film owners if possible) in our audio production facilities (for nice and quiet recording) . Call about special pricing for previous film transfer customers that would like to have their narration (of their film) added and mastered to a new DVD.

Should I transfer my home movies to DVD?
Considering analog video lasts about 10-15 years and DVD is expected to last at least 100 years, we would say yes. Especially important events like weddings, reunions, birthday parties etc. DVD is excellent for preserving and storing your video. If you plan on editing your videos, you should have them transferred to DV or MiniDV. This will enable you to change them from an analog signal to a digital signal. If you have a computer based editing system, you can encode the video via firewire into your computer for editing. Then you may want to have the finished product put onto DVD. It is important that you know that not all DVD products play on all DVD players. We can help you determine compatibility.
I found old films and reel to reel audio recordings. Can you transfer those for me?
Yes! We use a direct transfer for 8mm, Super8 and 16mm films. We do not shoot the film onto a screen and then video tape the image. We transfer your films directly to digital media like MiniDV or DV. We can add music, titles and narration later in the editing process. Viewers are available if you are not sure what is on your films. Be very careful if you try to run your films on old projectors. The bulbs are very hot and can melt the films. Also, sprocket holes can be damaged and prevent us from transferring your film at all! 1/4" reel to reel audio home recordings can be transferred to Compact Disc. Call us for more information. All transfers are done in house. Your items never leave our facility.
I have old albums I want converted to CD. Can you do that?
Unless it is a home-made album, we cannot transfer professionally produced material to CD but there are instances where we can transfer the material to analog cassette. If the album is copyrighted, it would be best to see if it material is available commercially; it would probably be cheaper than having us transfer it anyway.
I need a gift idea. What is a video scrapbook? Is that a good gift?

A small, hard-working video transfer/production/projection and presentation company based in Colorado Springs, CO. Established in 1997 as Pixylight Productions, and then migrating thru 5 years at Alexander Film, we are located at 1414 N. Academy Blvd. (behind the Taco Bell), and now with a new name. Of course, American Made Film will be offering the same great basic services including audio to CD, video to DVD, and film transfer and 35mm slide scanning and slideshow/video montage editing to DVD. New services will include video transfer to Blu-ray Disk(if the video was shot in HD) shot on most consumer point and shoot cameras.
