Ranked as one of the top employers Montreal. I worked as a software developer for more than a year. Both the management and co workers are great and highly talented. (Someone who can understand what's feasible to implement ). Good work-life balance. Worked with one of my best managers. The only downside is if you live in Montreal and if you don't have a car, everyday commute will be like a nightmare because office is located in a kind of forest. I almost get tired everyday by the time I reach the office.

A lot of these votes seem to be from people who work here. I can provide some input from a customer perspective. Genetec is hands down the best video management system on the market. They're also pretty darn great in the access control realm. I'm able to troubleshoot any issues 90% of the time myself because it is usually clear what is going on, or the software gives you the tools you need to do it.
The other 10% of the time my issues get escalated really quick and I talk to an engineer in a pretty short time period. I currently manage a distributed 1,200 camera setup and it works great. I couldn't imagine doing this with some of the other vendors I've used in the past in my MSP days.

Avoid the Technical Support at all cost! Voila, Genetec is fairly good company if you are working or would have an opportunity in any department other than Technical Support. It seems that there are other Technical Support bad reviews on Glassdoor site by ex-employees worth to read how things going in Genetec's Tech Support. The issue is the lower level Management specially in Video Technical Support team.
They are bullies and brought the foreign threat culture in a Canadian company. Specially the Video Team Leader. They are just saving their jobs by putting the Tech's down and pile of non ending work. They hire their friends in the team and playing political games through them against other team member. The workers shouldn't allowed to speak second language as they speak other than English/French (between myself i am an immigrant).
Second issue face by newly hire Tech support analyst are poor training and too much stuff to cover up which should be break up between multiple teams. The training is short and lack of practical which you feel it when you start taking calls from customers. At last the biggest issue is the Level 2 Core Support, if you attempt to escalate an issue they all team up against you and find ways to put you down and find a way so you get a warning or not doing your stuff correctly. Specially the Level 2 Core, where you have lazy and ignorant people working for some years now (Like Eric & salem) who are supported by his team leader (Nick) who are making life harder to stay in the company for Level1 Techs.
Because of him even some of other Level 2 Techs left the company. Also very unpleasant experience with one of their Technical Trainer "Daniel Berck" in Chicago. He should know that people from ethnic background have different accents as they speak multiple languages and give some respect. I am not sure how come this racist guy got hired which shows how Genetec respect the Ethnic minorities at work.

Went there for an interview but I declined after seing the surroundings. There is nothing to do, your out in the boondocks. Nothing like working downtown or the Old Port where there is life all day. Not practical if you live out of Montreal due to the number of transits and time to get there. Seems like a nice place but won't spend 1.5-2 hours commute (train + 2 buses) one way everyday.
