When U.S. Sports Video engineers began investigating design criteria for endzone camera systems back in 1990 one of the first questions considered was the appropriate height for the endzone camera. A review of then current practices, including the use of existing structures, bucket trucks, scissors-jacks, and others, revealed that, not surprisingly, the parameter of concern was angle of view rather than camera height.
With the "Direct-Action" system the telescoping mast is rotated like the periscope of a submarine for pan function, the control handle is moved up and down for the tilt function. The one handle control of the Raven makes it much faster in response and much easier to follow sports video action, especially compared to some of the small pan-tilt motors used on lower cost systems.
ALL-IN - ONE TOWER Module - Up in Seconds - Hi-Grade Aircraft Aluminum - Light Weight and Strong! The Hawkeye is the only professionally designed and engineered "small-motor" end zone camera system for sports video incorporating telescoping video tower and base technology that has evolved over the past 23 years with the Raven endzone video system.
The SkyHawk has become the most popular Endzone Video System of all time, with thousands installed and many in continues service for nearly two decades. The SkyHawk name has become synonymous with video " End Zone Camera System", in fact many coaches have come to refer to all endzone systems as a "SkyHawk".
