A video montage is a collection of photographs loaded onto DVD and plays as a slide show with a musical background. It is the most popular method for preserving old photographs digitally onto disc while creating a wonderful way of sharing your collection with others. We met Jim at the Seattle Wedding Show after having talked to several other videographers who were quite pricey. We wanted video of our special day but we didn't necessarily want to automatically sign up/pay for all the bells and whistles. Millstream had a couple different packages with varying price/features, of which we ended up picking the "Wedding Show" package.
As part of this package, it included a 30 picture montage with pictures/music of our choice. We originally thought to just have this as a keepsake and possibly gift it to our parents, but we ended up having screens in our reception hall that were able to play it on loop the entire time, so that was an added bonus! :) Unlike some other vendors, Millstream charged us per event, not per hour, so we had him and his assistant for the whole thing!
They were the first vendors to show up and one of the last to leave. Also, we had the added benefit of having two cameras on us, so we didn't have to worry as much about things getting missed. It also added the ability to get different views of the ceremony/reception that made the video feel more dynamic. All the while, they were never in the way, and cooperated with our photographer well! Jim and his assistant (I didn't have a chance to talk to his assistant since the day was so busy) were professional and courteous.
We were very pleased with the final results. I highly recommend trying to fit a videographer into the budget, especially one with such great value, as having that video to supplement the photography is definitely worthwhile.
