Mister Video has been providing customers with video communications solutions since 1996, and since our beginnings, we have expanded our services. Throughout our first years in the industry, we specialized in overseas video conversion, then added video editing services to our repertoire. In 1997, we acquired our first non-linear editing system, as well as a film transfer system for old 8mm/Super 8 and 16mm film. In 2007, Mister Video began offering customers audio visual rental services, further helping our clients with all their video communication needs.

The same year we also purchased our film transfer system for old 8mm/Super 8 and 16mm film. We serve local clients. Being local we can meet any challenge or deadline our client has and turn around any project very fast. Everything that we do is done in house whether it is a post production or simply a film transfer job. When you deal with us you will be dealing with the technician directly, so there will be a less confusion to finish the project.
When multiple cameras are used without a switcher, it is important to trigger all three cameras simultaneously during shoot so that all of them have same exact time codes. The switching is done during the post production process. We check the sound and video recording at different configurations: iris, focus, white balance, gamma, gain etc.
Also, playing the cassettes over and over again in the player reduce the sound quality because the audio player head rubs against the tape every time the tape is played - magnetic material worns out and it loses strength overtime. Even if you bought the audio cassette and never played it, you still lose the sound quality because of age heat, humidity, radiations etc. all effect the sound quality.

I rented speakers and lights from Mr. Video for my daughters sweet 16 birthday party and I was truly blown away by their service and attention to detail. I had no idea how to set everything up but the gentleman took his time when I picked it up and come to find out it was as easy as 1-2-3. I was referred to Mr. Video by a close friend who is a DJ and he couldn't of been more right.
This was definitely the place to go. The cost was minimal and pick up and drop off was a breeze. The contract agreement was clear and concise and they knew just what I was looking for. I definitely will be using Mr. Video in the future and recommending them to my entertaining friends.

The "clear pricing" on their website for 8mm to DVD transfer was totally misleading. When we delivered the film for the job they tried to jack up the price by nearly 100% before we demanded to speak to the manager to dispute it. They finally agreed to the price we quoted from the website. Then, when they told us the DVDs were ready, we arrived to the store to pick up the DVDs only to spend over 2 more hours in the store, waiting for them to complete the job with an additional fee because they miscalculated how many DVDs the transfer would take. It took 10 days for this. I went to these "professionals" because I was concerned that Walmart or Walgreen wouldn't have provided an adequate service.wrong call.

WOW! I was really surprised to read all the negative reviews about this place. I'm glad I didn't see them before otherwise I most likely would have passed on using Mr. Video. I actually had a great experience. I found them online and requested an estimate. Someone from the sales dept replied immediately. I decided to use them and when I arrived to pick up my equipment I saw the screen I reserved was much larger than I had imagined.
The receptionist and the AV person switched it out for me without complaint. I arrived to return the equipment an hour before they opened not realizing they didn't open until 10am. I was sick with the flu and trying to hurry to a doctors appointment as soon as possible. I called and spoke with someone who said the AV person was on his way and she would let him know to come early if he could. 20 minutes later I had turned everything in and was on my way to the doctor. I would absolutely recommend this vendor. They were friendly, professional and knowledgeable with amazing customer service. Kudos!

I had left a review previously but it was taken off as I had not fully explained my experience with Mr. Video in Springfield. I had called Mr. Video to see if they could scan some slides for me so I could use them on a website. They quoted me a price and told me it would take a few days, but then gave me a specific day when they would be ready. The day they promised they were not ready.
They gave us another day, few days later and they were not ready then, again. I had to call them twice and finally my friend picked them up when I was out of town. Well, that took two trips to beautiful Backlick Road. I had asked them to scan them for use on a website. They scanned them at 2000 dpi which turned out to be an issue, 30-50 mb size for each, and I had to have them re-sized so they could be used on the site.
We had issues with the images being flipped and when we went back we were told that we had to pay an additional fee which we did not agree to. So, my web guy did that for us. Our remaining pictures we took to Calumet photo where we paid 1/3 of what Mr. Video chargedand received proper prompt service with a smile. So, would I go back to this place? NO! Business is all about good customer service, something you people lack. Yelp, I hope this review is detailed enough for you for you not to delete it.

I am a volunteer for a local non-profit organization that provides services for the elderly. This organization rented a pair of stereo speakers with built in amplifiers (Mackie Speakers 15. SRM 450) from Mr. Video on July 3rd 2010 for use on our float in the annual Palisades 4th July parade. After around one hour of use in the parade one of the speakers emitted smoke, caught fire and then stopped working.
According to the user manual the speakers have a thermal protection circuit that is supposed to cut the power to the amp and speaker if it overheats. This circuit malfunctioned causing the built in amp to burn up. We continued with the remaining speaker but the effectiveness of the float was compromised. Worse still, upon return of the equipment Mr Video charged $600.00 for a new replacement speaker.
This is akin to a customer experiencing a roadside breakdown on a rental car and then being billed for the repair! The speakers were brand new and subject to a 5 year warranty in case of failure so it would appear that Mr. Video may have been attempting to have the unit repaired under warranty and in addition be paid for a brand new unit. After several months of fruitless correspondence with Mr Video the credit card company agreed that an injustice had occurred and charged back the $600.00.
Also the units were powered from a car battery then through a DC to AC inverter. This inverter emitted a very loud buzzing interference throughout the operation of the speakers. A replacement inverter was provided but the problem repeated. Needless to say we won't be using this unscrupulous outfit ever again.
