It began as a camera and photography supply store but soon diversified into a film transfer and video duplication house. Over the years, the film transfer, video production and duplication side of the business grew with the help of their son, Mark Booth. Because of it's diversification in the imaging business, Photographic Systems Unlimited became known as simply PSU Film & Video.
We can help you bring your cherished memories and family history back to life! We transfer 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm movie film to digital files and DVD to easily enjoy and share with your family and friends, or edit into your video production. Know who is handling your movies! Emily Williams has 14 years of experience transferring small gauge movie film, and 34 years of photography experience.
We transfer most video tape formats, including VHS, 8mm, Hi 8, miniDV, Betamax and Broadcast tape (digibeta, betaSP, betacam SX, D2, U-matic 3/4, DVCAM) to digital. In many cases, broken tapes can be repaired. Transfers are delivered as digital files and can be authored to DVD according to your needs.
The PSU edit bay is operated by Allen Williams and is equipped to handle your video post-production needs in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Allen has 20 years of experience editing corporate, educational, music video and family projects. We can digitize from most film, video and audio formats and provides a comprehensive set of tools for editing, motion graphics, audio, voice-over and DVD authoring. We can output your finished project to multiple video formats, including DVD, Quicktime, web ready and iDevice ready files.

I used Photographic Systems 3 years ago and was extremely pleased with their services. I had a bag full of vhs, 10mm, and other home movies, over 40 tapes, all of my 2 daughters growing up over the years. PS preserved those memories for my wife and our children, so glad I found them. Very professional, reasonably priced, and they do great work. All of my films were returned just as they were when I dropped them off. Great business, highly recommend.

I chose PSU b/c it was important to me to support a small local Nashville business rather than mailing my personal tapes to a big faceless company. and i'm so glad i chose PSU! they did a perfect job with transferring my 8mm home movies to digital files, and were extremely nice and professional. my family and i are so relieved to have our memories preserved in an accessible format, and i would absolutely recommend PSU to anyone looking for top-notch warm customer service and a great end result.

We could not be more pleased with our customer service but most importantly the outcome! The film we had transferred is very old and has not been kept in ideal circumstances and the outcome was stunning, she put so much time and care into making sure each section looked its best. We will treasure these family memories for generations!

I selected PSU because they are local, and I knew my 8mm film would never leave the premises. And after dropping off the film, I knew it was in good hands. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they went out of their way to accommodate several special requests. The results were outstanding. I recommend them highly and look forward to using them again.

Thank the camera gods that this place exists. The best place to find advice and film (even hard-to-find Fuji instant film for old Polaroid land cameras!). Better advice and much friendlier to the hobbyist film shooter than that place downtown. And the fact is, pricing on film, etc. is about as good here as you'll find online, so buy local.

These are folks are are super friendly, and willing to help you out if you need it. They specialize in formats and cameras not really used by most casual photographers. The classics, and vintage cams they have are beautiful. The owners are genuinely nice. Which is amazing to find in an industry where many retail and camera stores harbor the attitude of "I know more about it than you!" I will definitely be sending friends there, and trying to support the business any chance I get.

Photo Systems Unlimited is a great place to go if you want to buy an old camera. They are one of the few places in town where you can still pick up an old medium format Bronica or Mamiya, or an old manual 35mm Nikon or Canon. So if you're still old school about cameras, check out the selection available here. If you have recently upgraded or gone digital, PSU also sells cameras and other equipment on consignment, but they are honest with you about what will and will not sell.
On a recent trip, they told me to try selling my equipment on Craigslist first. They also sell a limited amount of darkroom equipment, including some enlargers and lenses, but they also have paper and chemicals. It's a tiny little store, but they do have all of the basics. This is also the only place I know of in town that will fix old cameras.
They fixed my old Nikon twice, very quickly and cheaply, and helped me avoid sending it to Nikon, where it would have cost a fortune and taken about eight weeks, so if you have a camera will some minor malfunctions, they can fix it for you. I believe you have to take it in on Tuesdays when the repair guy is there. They also offer an array of visual services, including making DVDs from videotape, so if you have something unusual like that you need doing, they may be able to help.
